"Once again, the Classic Theatre Festival has put on a terrific production, with a great cast and beautiful set. This delightful, romantic wartime era comedy is on till August 29, so be sure not to miss it!" – Ian Sutton, Lake 88.1

"My wife Judy and I where totally enthralled with 'The Voice of the Turtle': the characters drew us in making it easy to like and care about them. While it may have been set in the 1940's (WW 2) many of the issues dealt with remain relevant today. Once again you did a fine job of picking music to help set the mood." Wayne Cavanagh, Jack-FM

"The Classic Theatre Festival production of van Druten's play running until the end of the month in Perth is intelligent and sympathetic. We leave not feeling that we've dropped in on a quaint and now-irrelevant period in our moral history, but of having shared in the struggle of someone to trust herself and to allow another person into her life. There's nothing dated about that. This production finds the timeless element of van Druten's story."– Patrick Langston, Ottawa Citizen

"'Turtle' is a must-see for a number of reasons.   It is a fine piece
of theatre, well performed, certainly, but more importantly, it explores
an intensely emotional time in our history whose intensity we have
forgotten in these perhaps less dramatic times."
– Ian Doig, The Humm

The Voice of the Turtle, the 9th-longest running play in Broadway  history, later became a film starring Eleanor Parker, Eve Arden and a  future U.S. President.  This charming story of a small town girl finding romance in the big city during the Second World War captures the feel of the era.  Penned by the author of the play that inspired the hit musical, Cabaret, The Voice of the Turtle realistically portrays the rapidly changing roles of women during the 1940s, and truly stands the test of time.
