Happy birthday Paul!
11 years ago, the Classic Theatre Festival was about to open a play featuring playwright (Tompkinsville, Dear Rita) and performer Lyndsay Kyte, who had a special request just days before opening: could she fly over to Liverpool and receive her diploma from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts? After all, a pretty special guy would be handing out the diplomas!
We concluded We Could Work it Out. She did get her Ticket to Fly, and when Paul Saw Her Standing There, he handed Lindsay her diploma. We had a special Paul McCartney Day at the Festival in which Lindsay sang some of his tunes after the show.
After being shuttered for two years, the Festival returns August 5 to 28 at Arts Court in Ottawa with a production of the beloved Broadway marital comedy, The Fourposter! Get your tickets today at (613) 695-9330 or !

Truth and Reconciliation is more than words. They must be equaled with action. As a means of acknowledging the land and people where we are privileged to lie and work, we sought out the wisdom of Lynn Gehl, an Algonquin Anishinaabe-kwe from the Ottawa River Valley.
