Truth and Reconciliation is more than words. They must be equaled with action. As a means of acknowledging the land and people where we are privileged to live and work, we sought out the wisdom of  Lynn Gehl, an Algonquin Anishinaabe-kwe from the Ottawa River Valley. Burning Passions Theatre's ongoing Playwrights Circle, which provides dramaturgical support to Ottawa playwrights, held another workshop this weekend for a new play by Elle Attson. Candy Witch is an origin story where history melts into myth, and sweetness turns sharp. A dark, playful journey into the making of a legend.

Attson, seated, was supported through the workshops by actors (left to right) Matthew Behrens and Kaylee Ross, Dramaturge/Director Laurel Smith, and actors Theresa Stork, Michael MacLean (also a playwright with an upcoming workshop), Arkam Mazrui and Mitchell Cohen
