Please help us with our New Voices New Stages program at Burning Passions Theatre. Thank you so much for your support!
Land Acknowledgement
Truth and Reconciliation is more than words. They must be equaled with action. As a means of acknowledging the land and people where we are privileged to live and work, we sought out the wisdom of Lynn Gehl, an Algonquin Anishinaabe-kwe from the Ottawa River Valley. Do you live in Ottawa and enjoy acting?
Seniors Sharing Stories, an ongoing project from Burning Passions Theatre, brings to the stage stories by and about seniors, featuring seniors.
We are looking for someone who can play the role of a woman in her early 80s (you don’t need to be in your 80s—it’s acting!!!) who is dealing with health challenges.
If you are interested in this volunteer training opportunity (learn new skills while having fun) and to take part in this one-hour play, please contact info@bptheatre.ca asap!
Rehearsal Schedule is Monday and Wednesday from 12 pm to 5 pm with performances on March 26 and 27 at 2 and 7:30 pm at the Rideau Rockcliffe Community Resource Centre. No phone calls please!
Join the fun!

Step into the spotlight with a joyful and energizing musical theatre course celebrating the iconic roles, songs, and stories of women in musical theatre. Guided by veteran director Laurel Smith of Burning Passions Theatre Company, participants will explore rich ensemble material drawn from classic and contemporary musicals written for – and about – strong, dynamic female characters. Throughout the course, students will work on duets, trios, and full group numbers, developing vocal confidence, harmony skills, storytelling technique, and onstage connection. With a supportive, social atmosphere, this class is perfect for anyone who loves to sing, move, and collaborate.
The course culminates in a showcase performance, giving every participant the chance to shine and celebrate the power of women’s voices—onstage and beyond.
Fun, inspiring, and filled with community, Leading Ladies is an empowering musical theatre journey for performers of all experience levels. This course will include both working with recorded music and an accompanist.
